Philippine Azkals Win Against Nepal

An international friendly match between the Philippines and Nepal ended with the Azkals winning with a score of 4-0 at the Rizal Memorial Stadium in Manila.

Phil Younghusband made goals twice while the other two scores came from his brother James and alternative player, Matthew Hartmann. Azkals coach Michael Weiss says, “We wanted to end the year with a bang and give a clear answer to people who are not happy with the team. This is the way we wanted to play. Not to be arrogant but 4-0 is a mild result.”

Meanwhile, Nepal coach Graham Roberts, attributes his squad’s defeat to the loss of confidence brought about by the local crowd. He also says that his team is badly out of practice. He laments, “We were not sharp enough and when we make mistakes, you get punished. Our defending was absolutely abysmal.”
